Matthew 5:13
Ye are the salt of the earth, but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted?? It is thenceforth good for nothing but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world.
Where is your salt??? Have you lost your savor??? We need to take inventory of ourselves. We need to check our salt to see if we have lost it’s savor. The body of Christ is a representation of Jesus Christ.We are to point others to Jesus and the way of the cross. If we loose our savor then how can we then be effective as a Christian?? We are the the very aroma of Jesus in the earth, the very trace of the goodness of God. If we are living a God fearing, holy life before our Creator and before the world we are simply showing the world that we are lacking the nutrients of the Kingdom.
Our job as a Christian is to be an example of the One who sent us. Jesus said we must go out and compel others to come to Him. We must be either hot or cold in our relationship with Him. If we are lukewarm, which means we have lost some of our savor, He said He would spew us out from His mouth. Our saltiness can be renewed or refreshed only when we go to God and confess our short comings and allow Him to work on us. He is the only one who can refresh us again. Our hope is in God.
Today as you go throughout your daily life, ask yourself these questions and take a personal inventory. Am I salty before God??? Do I present a Godly saltiness??? Am I pleasing God with everything I do??? What picture do I present to those who are watching me??? If at anytime you feel that you have came short in anyway just turn to the Father for help. The Bible declares He is a ever present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1-3) He hears, sees, and answers prayers. (1Peter 3:12). If you call upon Him and confess your sins He will hear and He will help you.
